Coffee with a Cop is an event dedicated to encouraging communication and positive interactions between law enforcement agencies and the public. This event has now become a National Day, with Coffee with a Cop events taking place each year on the first Wednesday in October to further nationwide efforts to bridge the gap between the community and the law. Coffee with a Cop is community policing at its core. As part of Coffee with a Cop, on October 7, 2020, members of the Metropolitan Police Department share a cup of joe at events across the District of Columbia.
