As you may already be aware, there is a reported water leak near the intersection of 4th Street NW and Marietta Place NW. This evening beginning around 5:30pm, DC Water’s Water Operations team will be conducting a test on some water mains and valves in the area to identify the source of the leak and assess next steps. This testing procedure should not take more than four hours, but could be completed in less time.
During the testing procedure, we will need to shut off water to portions of water mains running on 5th Street NW, between Longfellow Street and Oneida Place, and on Marietta Place NW, between 5th and 4th Streets. Accordingly, a number of customers located along these blocks may be put out of water during the testing procedure.
We do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and we ask for your patience as we work to complete this evening’s testing procedure as expeditiously as possible.
