Zoning Information

I have reached out to DCRA to learn more information about the zoning in our community and how it related to pop-ups/pop-backs. This is the first of what I hope to be a series of discussions with DCRA on this subject:

"My name is Tarek Bolden with the Office of the Zoning Administrator (OZA) in DCRA. The regulations regarding vertical additions or "pop-ups" can vary from zoning district to zoning district. Each Zone in the city has a maximum building height limit and associated penthouse regulations that apply to it, and there are well over 20 different zoning categories in the District. For example in the in the RF-1 zone the maximum height is 35 feet and 3 stories. When a building permit is submitted that proposes a vertical addition, it is routed to Zoning for review to ensure the proposal is in compliance with the applicable regulations for that zone. Approval is granted or denied at that stage depending upon the applicant's compliance with the code. Is there a specific area of the District or Zone you are inquiring about? That information will allow me to point you specific regulations that would be applicable to your community."

I have asked for specific zoning information for the areas within ANC 4B06 and I await a response.
